Anyone else with kids notice that there's no longer a saturday morning carto!
Question: I remember when i was a kid there was all sorts of good cartoons. they'd start around 6 30 am or 7 am and end around 12 or 11;30. now its all gone. sad if you ask me. we have to go over to cable and nick jr...seems like even the cartoons have been privatized.

who can forget the smurfs. or lone ranger, or ewoks or thundar the barbarian or black star-think that was his name-or so many others. or them scooby doo cartoons.

yes them old toons were great.
I have noticed.. I was thinking of that weeks ago. I dont have kids but I have been off of work for a few weeks and I saw nothing on then. Wierd.. but when you see all the other channels that have them it is understandable.
None of the cartoons for kids these days compare to the "old school" cartoons (Looney Tunes, the old Disney characters, Animaniacs, etc).
the thing is , some of those older cartoons were sometimes rasist , or had other things that are not appropriate to children . The thing is you never noticed because you were a kid . Cartoons really were never ment for kids , they were ment for adults so in my opinion , its not sad .

yes when I was a kid, there were only 3 channels to choose from - we watched saturday morning kids tv (swap shop or tiswas) with cartoon until 12.30 when grandstand came on. Then we got dressed and went out to play!
why is there cooking on saturday morning tv nowadays? boring.

I dont have kids but I do agree. Hell, I still watch cartoons. They only thing on Saturday mornings is The Batman and The Legion. Good news though, they are relaunching the Spiderman series next year on UPN.
I remember the smurfs, thundercats, spidermand and his amazing friends, he-man, gi-joe, scooby doo(which has been revamped on UPN), Tom and Jerry, etc
There are several hours of cartoons on on NBC, ABC and CBS but not like the marathons we used to get. My daughter watches Strawberry Shortcake and Care Bears on CBS on Saturday mornings but most of the time tunes in to Playhouse Disney where they show about 4 hours of it on the weekends. I miss the Smurfs,The Littles, Loony Tunes, and the un-overdubbed Tom and Jerry !!
