Dog the Bounty Hunter......son sells tape?!

Question: Dog the Bounty Hunter has been axed due to his son Tucker selling a recorded msg on his phone from his dad (Dog Chapman) that contained racist words. The Chapmans are now in deep doo doo. Is this show as popular in the USA as it seems to be in the UK n what dya think to these recent developments?

Ok first of all I'm a very loyal 'Dog' fan and just because he said something offensive to some, is not going to make me look at him any differently or make me stop watching the show.
I personally will NOT use the 'N' word, it's a bad word in my house worse then saying the 'F' word, and I use the 'F' word a lot.
However do you think that the media would pay ANYONE for a tape of a black man calling a white person Cracker? F*ck No, that's totally laughable!
The way I look at it is this...If black people don't want to be called the 'N' word, maybe they should stop saying it to each other, if they use the term loosely towards each other and then get offended when someone of another race says it, isn't that just a little hypocritical? I do believe so!
Dog...I'm on your side! I will continue to watch the show and if they take it off the air, I'll buy the DVDs.
Because of you there are drug dealers and rapist off the streets and I will always be grateful for you doing that for us.
Keep up the good work and God Bless!

I never liked him or his show.

I always thought there was a big part that he didn't want people to see.....and now we know what that was.

Whether his son sold the tape or not....that word is ugly and unnecessary.

i never knew what the big deal about dog the bounty hunter was. i watched the show a few times. well he was worried about his career in the conversation he should of thought about what he was saying and how his son would take it. because now his career on TV is over.

THEY ARE GOING W JEEESUS!!!! much love brother

It was a private conversation that should never have been made public. However, since it WAS made public, people are flocking to any website that has it just to hear it.

If I were Dog, I would never speak to my son again for as long as I lived.

Yeah the show is popular everyone knows of Dwayne Chapman, I personally feel like he let down a lot of people by expressing himself the way he did. On his show he often talks about God and how God saved him from destruction Yet he did not live a christian way. I pray he repents and learns from his mistake. Maybe someday his show will return to tv but as of now...He's outta here!

I think his son is a n-word for trying to capitalize on his fathers indicretions. Dog gave a public explanation and apology so im not at all offended.

Yes its popular over here as well. I'm at a loss as to what to say about it. Dog seems so understanding I don't know hoe he could do something so insensitive! I guess we will have to see how it all plays out!

yea he's popular in the USA -

Much like the guy from Seinfeld - Richard.

Only a small portion of people will discontinue watching because of what he said.

I could care less he's another cop on a power trip.

Sooner or later someone will pull a gun on him and his family - and what will his pepper spray do then???

his son sold the tape for a puny 15,000 bucks...not only did he sell the tape, he sold out his father and his brothers, his entire family...

they went from being someone seen as a man of god and a generally good person...to being total scum.

Yes, the show is popular here in the U.S. I think it's A&E's #1 show. He shouldn't have used those words in his conversation with his son. I know he seems like this heroic person on t.v., but this shows his ugly side. Plus, he makes white people look bad. Not all white people are racist & he doesn't represent our race very well. It's very disappointing. I liked him before, but not after he said what he said.

The show has not been axed, only suspended until an investigation is conducted. I think it was wrong of Tucker to sell the tape, not matter how mad he was at his father. I've watched too many episodes of Dog and seen too many instances of his good-heartedness towards the people he captures to believe that he is full of hate. Was he angry? Yes. Was his use of the word wrong? Yes. Is he a racist? No. He was only telling his son that if his girlfriend heard the family use the word, she would be offended and take it to the tabloids, not due to the fact that she's black, but because of her character. It is common knowledge that whenever a black person hears someone say ******, there is hell to pay, no matter what context it is in. That was his whole problem, and he is not racist for stating a fact.

We watched it all the time, and so did alot of our friends. I had not heard about this. What a shame, crazy what people will do for money. I would cut Tucker out of everything. I'm sorry does not cut it.

I think the show is probably more popular in the US than over here. Over here it's only shown on satellite television so not everyone can watch it.

I understand the show has been suspended pending further investigation of the allegation so it hasn't been axed completely, only time will tell whether that's on the cards.

I have to say I'm a bit disappointed in both Dog and Tucker. Dog for using the word when he should have known better (no matter what your stance is on the use of the 'n' word we all know it's provocative) and Tucker for selling out his father in this way.

Having said that it doesn't surprise me that Tucker did this. I always got the impression he and Dog didn't have a great relationship.

Dog's maintained that he doesn't care if Tucker's girlfriend is black, it's her character he has a problem with. Only Dog knows if this is true or not.

No matter what happens though I'll never look at him the same way again...

Personally who cares about this person, I watch the show just for entertainment, I am an African American and I really don't care what Don Imus, Dog, O'Reilly or any other white person thinks or says about black people. We hold white people to high standard like what they do or say is just as important as anyone else. Please be serious these people do not have control over the universe they barely have control over themselves. We act like they don't have a racist bone in there body, well guess what it has to deal with how the person was raised. If you want things to change, change yourself and stop teaching your kids to be scared of black people, like we have the plague. When your son or daughter brings a black person home don't look surprise. Read your history on black people find out exactly what euro, caucasian or white people thought of us and did. Open your eyes and see, don't be blind be smart. As black people we need to work on ourselves before we try to work on some ignorant asshole. I really don't care. But I thought I had to say something about it.

Also find out about issues like the Six Accused In Kidnap, Torture of Black Woman Will Not Be Charged With Hate Crime.

You know, it was wrong what he said & all....but are you going to tell me you never say things in a PRIVATE conversation & then regret them later?

His son is an A** for releasing the tape.

i don't condone racism but i liked the show

Yes, very popular.

Anytime you have a show dealing with society's garbage (like Cops, the Real World, the Surreal World, and AMW) people just can't seem to help themselves.

Dog does not even get to deal with the regular trashy people, he has to deal with the worst of the worst... the ones that skip bail, are on the run and do not want to go back to jail.

These people have pulled knives on him and other things. I remember this one episode when Dog was in Colorado. This guy smashed a crack pipe into the side of Dog's face and the blood was gorey.

Dog then tried to help that guy out too with some good advice on the way to jail.

That being said, I believe it to be human nature (and we are all guilty at one time or another) to come up with reasons why we are better than the next person... whether we are richer/poorer, taller/shorter, thinner/fatter, lighter/darker skinned, better/worse car(s), etc...

I think it is so very wrong to broadcast and make public personal (and very private) conversations between family members when taken out of context to make money.

Good luck.

Dog was convicted in the murder of a black man in Texas, back in 1977. He claims to have changed his life, yet he uses racial hatred freely. I don't think he has changed his ways, nor has he sought an atonement being apart of the murder of an innocent black man.
