Coronation Street-Is it me but did it strike you as unrealistic?!

Question: A car splashes into the lake and the stupid bloke walking the dog stares for 5 minutes without doing anything at all!
The police come to the scene and do nothing for a full 15 minutes whilst a man could be drowning-hello????
The police cant wait until the wedding vows are done before marching into the church and dragging Gail out without any thought to the people there or any sensitivity to the situation.
The mother runs off in the middle without getting all her facts right ruining her daughters day (and lets not forget the history behingd all of that-third time lucky!)
and to top it all David Platt comes home completely unscathed-oh and no one thinks to tell the police or get him checked out at the hospital.utterly pathetic!

Gails mums acting was wooden and unfeeling and all in all it just seemed unbelievable and badly acted!

The worst episode I have ever seen.

Coronation Street? Unrealistic? Take some of the story lines. Nobody ever discusses sport, but when one of the characters (going back a long while) met a speedway rider and told everyone in the pub about it, they all knew who he was. And when a trucker came into the series for a while (who apparently is Sean Connery's stunt double in reality) nobody mentioned that he looked like Sean Connery. And a woman who used to be a man doesn't have an adam's apple. Or maybe these sex change operations take them away as well! My mother used to watch the programme, which is the only reason I know about these things (honest)!!! All soaps are unrealistic because things happen too quickly, what normally would take several months takes a few days. And as I asked in a question a short while ago, how come everybody has a teapot and doesn't put a tea bag into a cup, and everybody uses the cafe even though they all live nearby., and nobody ever seems to be teetotal. Moreover, the police in these series always seem to be dimwits. There, I've got that all off my chest.

It stuck me as totally stupid to be honest. How was David not seen escaping from the car in the canal.
I think this story is getting boring. The wedding was a hash up too! Think we shall now rely on Eastenders for better drama.

i found it hard to believe that the police would have taken gail to the canal to witness the car being brought up. dramatic licence was stretched a bit here!

I completely agree with you. Even worse did you watch the national awards last night!!! When Sarah and Jason were presenting an award and david platt runs in! That was the worst acting ever!!

Plus they messed up the nominees

Got to agree, it also really annoyed me the way everyone felt sorry for him and were blaming Sarah! Have they all forgotten what he has done.

it is unrealistic, where else do you live and work, socialise and find your partner on the same street, they all go to the cafe for breakfast, dinnertime in the pub, i want to live on that street, make life a lot easier

It was just a shame David didn't take Gail in the car with him and leave her for dead. She is the worst character on tv yet always comes through these things unscathed and with the same thick expression on her face.

but apart from all that did you enjoy it i thought it was great

I am a big fan of Corrie but I thought this episode was unrealistic. The police could have waited outside until the wedding was over as they weren't even sure it was David's car? Then Gail interrupts her daughters wedding and totally ruins it for her. I felt very sorry for Sarah as everyone seemed to have forgotton what David had done. Even Jason seemed to have forgotton that David had tried to kill him!!!

But I shall carry on watching as I just can't stand Eastenders

i know it was crap! and last night when they done the telly awards and she was like " oh i am so happy to be away from my annoying brother david " then he came running on..it was just fake and rubbish..the whole thing

i totally agree!!!! its just so **** now iv wiped my **** with it. plus who the **** gets married on a Wednesday, better still on Halloween? what Muppet's eh!
