I think they're right to kill her off, look at the state of Bet Lynch when she's came back for the odd reappearence, enough to make any character want to be killed off! lmfao
Course she's gonna die - Liz Dawn is not well enough to continue so they have to write Vera out...

She has emphasemya in real life and has been ill for a number of years. Personally I am relieved that they are going to kill off the character - I'd hate them to do a storyline where Jack and Vera split up / get divorced etc as I'd hate to see that happen to their characters. It'll be a tearjerker when its screened!!!

I just read that story before I came on here, and I'm actually quite saddened at the thought of Vera disappearing from our screens as she adds a touch of classic comedy to Corrie. However, I understand why it is happening, and really do feel sorry for Liz Dawn as she is now having to give up a very large part of her life due to ill health. She will be sadly missed.
has she still got that job as mayor of Leeds.how will she go a brain tumour or breast cancer that way she stays on TV longer. but sorry she/s popping her clogs.sign me up.

I got a teddy named Vera after her ...no joke!!
Well I was surprised at that M because it was written that she would come back for the odd episode. It is probably for the best though because she is really ill and, sadly, may not be around for too long. She is a Corrie legend and she will be sorely missed but at least she will get to go out on a high bless her.
It is a shame, but due to ill health that is the only way that they could write her out of the show.
I get the feeling that soon Jack will have to be written out as well as you can't have Jack without Vera
yes she will be missed her and jack without v is loke fish without chip,s terry come,s back the end of november there son i believe be good to see the family back together even if it is only shorterm

If it were up to me there would be a nuclear explosion to wipe out Coronation St, Emmerdale, Eastenders, Hollyoaks and all the other soaps, cookery and crummy daytime antique shows so that there might possibly be some informative and educational television in their place.
