What is the point in having Channel 4+1 and no Five?!

Question: I took a look at what they have planned for us on our small local transmitter when it goes digital. We'll only get a tiny percentage of what everybody else is getting. 21 channels of radio and TV. I noticed that we will get all of the Channel 4 stuff including 4+1, but NO Five. I realise that Five is not the best, but I'd rather have another channel than just a repeat channel. What is going on?

The sad thing is, these days Channel 5 is actually better than BBC and ITV because they offer a better range of films, documentaries and American imports instead of filling their schedule with cheap reality shows and quizzes.

I know that quite a few people across the UK have problems receiving Channel 5 on analogue but that shouldn't be the case with digital. You should receive Channel 5 as one of your basic free digial channels but perhaps, where you live, there is still a transmitter problem. The best way to find out more is to write or send an email to Channel 5 and query what is going on.

4 plus 1 is 5 lol
