What do you think how black women are portrayed on television?!

Question: I ask this because one major network VH 1, cancelled a reality show titled, Interracial love, which was to be about a white ex-marine looking for a serious relationship, but with a black woman.

I don't know why the show was cancelled, but clearly there was something terribly wrong with that decision. I say this because VH1 is notorious for airing shows that only serves to perpetuate the awful stereotypes of black women as loud, ignorant, hootchie mama's with no amibition.I.E. Flavor of Love and Charm School.

So, I ask you the reader of this question, black, white, female and male. What do you think of the cancellation?

i'm kinda sad that vh1 would do that. i guess they made so much money on making sure ethnic stereotypes remain alive, i guess they didn't see the cash cow of a white man and a black woman getting together in a normal(kinda)
i'm a black woman married to a white man i would of love to see a show like that.
just seeing someone like you is good, but also people who don't understand interracial relationships could of really come away with a different and positive opinion!

hopefully, they will come to their senses and make the show happen soon

Well, here is my thought on the subject - if these women let these "reality" shows portray them badly, then that is their own fault, the same with white people too like the girls on "Rock of Love", they are selling themsleves and their image for their 15 minutes of fame - I dont blame the networks, I blame the girls.

Maybe it's because of the peeps who are in power, maybe they didn't think they liked the idea of it.

I for one see the soul and character of a person and not their colour!

This is why people are still racist to this day. They see only the faults in the ONE person and take it out on the whole race.
For example--New York---- I mean really what does she portray? She is nasty and acts stupid, I still watch the show though.
But don't just think it is her. Look at nasty Brooke, aka Pumpkin. She is as nasty as a white girl can come.
It is sad that there is still racism out there but hopefully one day people will get smart and see past race, gender, etc...~~~~~~~
