If Chef Ramsey meaner on the American show vs the British?!

Question: I watch the American version of Kitchen Nightmares and I also watch the British version and to me it seems like he's nicer to his own people than ours. Am I imagining this or do others see it?

He made the British series first then American producers saw him and wanted him to do an American version. I bet he's being paid to be meaner and harsher than ever because producers like that.

In many ways, Americans tend to be more emotional than British. The British rarely cry when Ramsey lays into them but the Americans are more inclined to so he's getting more of a reaction from them, which is good for viewer ratings.

no i don't think so

I've watched the American version a couple of times and he's pretty snarky. For some reason, the proprietors idolize him as soon as he walks in and then he starts ripping their menu apart.

As the child form an alchoholic father, described as........
His father was, at various times, a swimming baths manager, welder, shopkeeper, and aspiring country-western singer, and his mother was a trained nurse.[2] Ramsay has described his early life as "hopelessly itinerant", as his family moved constantly due to the aspirations and failures of his father. In past public interviews, Ramsay has declined to describe his father as an alcoholic; however, his autobiography, Humble Pie,[2] describes his early life as being marked by abuse and negligence from this "hard-drinking womanizer".[2][3] At the age of 16, Ramsay moved out of the family house to a council flat with his older sister.

It's no wonder he has an edge to him.....much of it I suspect is a bit of an act, as his "brand" so to speak to make him stand out.......

He seems nicer to me on kitchen Nightmares
than on Hells Kitchen to me I saw the British show
on BBC on demand and he seemed about the same
he's just trying to get people to work hard for their dreams
thats why he's like that I like when He's on Jay Leno
and Ellen he's more laid back.

haven't seen the American version of Kitchen Nightmares and when we are over there, I won't bother, he is a nightmare, himself, can't stand the man.. I don't watch it anymore here and I am not likely to watch it there.. and now his wife is making money, selling books.. how sick is that? As if they haven't' enough money already.

i don't think so.

No, I don't think he's nicer to the Brits. I do think he's meaner on Hell's Kitchen than he is on either of the restaurant nightmares shows.
