i could NOT bring myself to watch are you afraid of the dark! that song with that swing set... my god... id always close my eyes! and i remember an episode about a live doll and a doll house that TRAUMATIZED ME!

Are you afraid of the dark-- i NEVER watched that show growing up. Use to scare the hell out of me. lol. Then again, Scooby Doo scared me until I was a teenager. :) I'm such a wuss.
i already asked this question and everybody replied are you afraid of the dark, but i was into goosebumps...it gave me never ending night mares

They were both pretty scary but I loved Are You Afraid of the Dark? so much. I had read all the goosebumps books as a kid and didn't like the way the show was portrayed. It was only sometimes scary. And now Cartoon Network is showing Goosebumps and I see how lame it actually was. Now if Nickelodeon would only compete and air AYAOTD again and I will be a happy but scared camper : )

I loved both of those shows but neither of them scared me. I was more afraid of Tales from the Crypt (which I probably shouldn't have been allowed to watch), but I will say horror wise Are You Afraid of the Dark? is the more frightening show out of the two.
Well i`d have to say that both shows were very interesting to me. to me they were the same but i was never scared because at the end u would always find out what happened. but if they had an episode that would be a "TO BE CONTINUED.. then i would go to sleep that night just thinking what would happen next . i hate to say it like this, but both shows were like "Murder She Wrote and "Matlock" for the kids. meaning that it was very interesting. it is ashame that they don`t make shows like that anymore. in facted was turning my tv the other day, and long and behold GOOSEBUMPS was on Cartoon Network, and being 26 i actually watched it, and it was as interesting as it was 12 years ago when it was still on air on Fox. I would love to see Are u afraid of the dark once again also, if Nickelodeon could just show it just one more time as a Halloween Special.
it would not be for me to watch i would watch it with my nephew, you know just to make sure that he felt safe (smile)
