Season 1 deals with the mysterious suicide of a neighbor, who narrates every episode, with the exception of one. Season 2 deals with new neighbors who are hiding something in their basement. Season 3 deals with one woman's new husband and his past. Season 4 is the current season that deals with neighbors that lived there 12 years ago and now must cover up some mysterious secret. It's a great show. Definately worth watching. It's hilarious too. The storylines are incredible! (Affairs, Suicide, etc.) I suggest you rent Season 1 on DVD, then if you like it, rent Season 2. Some people think Seasons 2 and 3 weren't too good, but they were fine, IMO. But Season 4 is going back to its original roots. Sorry for such a long summary. =]
