The name is based on the idea that "everyone knows a bloke called Dave".

I dont know but it really made me laugh. They'll be naming other channels things like 'Nigel' and 'Brian' next.

it was UKTV G2 untill a couple of days ago which is wen they changed it to dave which confuzes me slightly

I dont know.But i find it ironic that Sky News has today been lecturing us about the dangers of drinking Wine,when clearly whoever is in charge of giving the Sky channels their names has obviously been drinking too much of it

yeah! i noticed that too.... UKTV history has now got..."Dave" written in the top corner. Proparly some guy got sacked and attempted to make his mark.

The channel was called "Dave" because the owner of the channel is called David (nickname Dave).
