Terrible thing to do.
But a good suggestion: Let's give em a call or write em an email!

I really do agree! I think they should give the dog back to the family! I saw the video of Ellen pleading to give the dog back it was so heartbreaking :( I atleast think Ellen should get atleast a fine but I dont think they should have just taken the dog from those two little girls. I think she needs another chance!

I agree. The dog obviously had a loving home with the hairdresser and her children. Isn't that the whole point? To find these pets a loving home? Give the dog back.

Absolutely! How callous can they be. They could have easily seen the dogs were in a safe, loving home instead of snatching them back.

If anyone has a phone or emial address for this "Mutts and Moms" outfit PLEASE POST IT.
Perhaps we can drop them a line or two...

Damn the fine print!

I did. I totally agree that people should sign the contract promising to bring the dog back if they don't want it. That way, there won't be as many dogs abandoned and kill because their owner gets "tired" of caring for them.

But to take the dog AWAY from a loving home? Isn't that the exact OPPOSITE of what they're about?

As much as I like Ellen, it is her own doing. She should have read the rules, or at least had one her assistants or lawyers read it.

I saw it and I think it is appauling that they would take that poor dog away from that family that clearly wanted to keep him. What are they going to do with the dog ?

I agree! Give the dog back to those kids. I understand that not everyone who wants their pet finds a good home for it, but Ellen did what she felt was the right thing. The dog had a good home and now it doesn't...someone call PETA!!

I also agree with everyone else. The family's providing a stable and loving home for the dog and they deserve a second chance. I know that animal rescues do the right things for the benefit of the dog. But, I wonder if Ellen had surrendered the dog, would the family have to pay an additional adoption fee to get the dog back? It's sounds fishy to me! You would think that any animal advocacy group would agree with Ellen. I have heard of breeders that have such clauses in their contracts. But, like Ellen said, this is a rescue and she did everything first in order to keep the dog. It just seems unfair for all!

Was this on today's show?
Hasn't aired on the west coast feed yet.

I DIDN'T HEAR ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED THIS LAST EPISODE. BUT I DID VIEW A VERY SMALL PART, AND ELLEN LOOKED BENT OUT OF SHAPE.

Agree.

Hahahahahahahahahaqhahahahahahahahahaha
I can't stand Ellen, serves her right
Next time read the fine print.

OK thumbs down time!

Why do we need lawyers and contracts to adopt a pet to a loving family when children are being sold on the black market.

I've adopted all my animals from the shelter for the last 20 years and we all have to sign saying that if we don't keep the animal then we'll turn in back into the agency.

Why should she be exempt from the rules if she's a celebrity? It's for the animals' protection, to keep people from "dumping" unwanted pets on unsuitable homes.

If the hairdresser and her kids want the dog, let them go down to the shelter and apply to adopt it themselves! If they really are fit and proper people to provide a suitable home, the agency will decide and not Ellen Degeneres.

I agree they need to give the dog back....unfortunatley its probably not going to happen since she violated the terms of her contract

I agree all the way! she was only trying to be nice and do something special for those two little girls. Its not like the dog went to some place horrible it went to a terrific home by the sounds of it. people are so cold hearted. what if your dog was taken away from you. how would you feel? i know if someone ever tried to take my dogs away from me i would be crying for weeks. i know you can always get a new dog. but you get so attached their like your brother or sister. your pets are your family!?

I agree 100%. When she adopted that dog, it became hers. She has the right to give it to a good home if she sees fit. Sometimes, even the best of pets and owners don't mesh. The people who run the rescue agency sound like they have control issues. If the dog was being abused, I could see their point, but it had a loving home.
Moral of the story-read the fine print in any adoption agreement for pets. If that kind of clause is included, the SPCA has some wonderful pets who need homes, and when you adopt, the pet is yours.
