Question: What about Picard?
What about the Enterprise-E?
What about Riker and the Titan?

Answers: What about Picard?
What about the Enterprise-E?
What about Riker and the Titan?

The Star Trek franchise is in serious trouble. Star Trek Voyager didn't do as well as hoped, even when super sexy Jeri Ryan joined the cast as Seven of Nine. Star Trek Enterprise fell precipitously downhill right around the time Scott Bakula suddenly changed his acting style and started playing his character much more aggressively, without any warmth. After that, I just quit watching. So did most of America.

The original Star Trek has the best chance of grabbing an audience. While younger audiences might look back at these original episodes with a jaded eye, due to the relatively primitive special effects and lower budget, this first series is an absolute classic. Most of the episodes that are better than any Star Trek movie yet made!

The other Star Trek's all had a chance to captivate the audience's imagination, but only Star Trek Generations succeeded much (which is ironic; I thought Voyager was the best of the sequels, by far. I loved Commander Janeway, Seven of Nine, and many of the episodes, especially the way they fought out of really tough circumstances with unusual pluck and intellect. One episode that graphically comes to mind is when they fought the Vedians, and the tough decision Catherine Janeway had to make.

If this movie becomes a success, perhaps the studio will have enough courage to try and give Picard, Riker, and the rest another chance. Keep your fingers crossed, unless you are using them to flash, "Live Long and Prosper" :)
