That is yet to be seen, but one thing is for certain, it is am member or the original company. Why is that? There were eight members of the counsel al large at the begining of the season, Hiro's father said that and so did Noah. So, why is the eight of Isaac's paintings a painting of Claire and someone in the shadows as Noah lay there bleeding to death? Noah was not on the counsel. So, if he is the eighth and final victim then one of the seven remaining members is the killer. Petrelli's parents could be in on it but unlikely given Linderman said Nathan's dad was killed for going away from the greater good and Nathan's mom was behind the hiding of Claire to make Nathan and Peter as pawns in Linderman's grand design. She also had to know that Claire was in danger and did nothing when that painting came up the first season. But the person does have to be on the counsel. I would be thinking Linderman who is not in the paintings is the killer. I would aso think that he is Takezo Kensai. Notice the similar accent. They look alike. They could both heal things. You never saw him die. You just saw him impaled. What says he did not survive and get to Candace and get to Sylar and set Sylar up in the out of the way place so that Sylar could recover while he looked into taking over the world by getting rid of the counsel and leading a new batch of heros. BTW, it may just be dumb luck that Claire is a healer and if Linderman were to find a way to get rid of her then he would be the only one with his power and the key to the survival of the planet. Oh yea, why save Sylar? To have another bite at the apple by having him get Peter to explode the world or vice versa, Linderman's plan revisited. It makes sense as does the idea that at least one member, possible Nathan's mom is his cohort, because you did not see her being attacked by anyone now did you. And, Linderman could have killed Hiro's dad and survived the fall, and Nathan's mom could be telekenetic.

It is worth a thought.

I don't know if they live forever. Both Takezo and Claire appear to be aging normally so they might still reach a point where they die.

I don't think it is Kensei for two reasons. One is that while he does regenerate, if his power is like Claire's, then he cannot regenerate while the killing trauma is still there, and I would think that old age counts as a killing trauma that his body won't fix. (Mostly I think this for a practical reason; I doubt The Powers That Be would have them not age, because it would be too obvious that the actress playing Claire is aging.) The second reason is that the person probably has the gift of flight, at least if the eyewitness accounts are to be believed about the death of Hiro's dad, and Kensei doesn't have that gift.

Other than that, I really have no clue as to who the mysterious assassin is. I was sort of thinking that it might be Papa Petrelli who was not actually dead, but I have no idea why I think that at the moment.
