if you have cable get a DVR, similar to a TIVO but cheaper. You can set it to record your fav shows continuosly and watch them at your convience. I have a DVR to record my shows because I work nights. The DVR only runs me and extra $9.00 on cable bill.

are you able to access the websites of the various networks? i know abc posts ugly betty, and NBC posts heroes. I don't know about House.

type the name of the show and find when they come on or get the recording set and find the show and record it when it comes on

Almost all the networks offer webcasts online, where you can watch the weeks previous episodes. Everything from NBC, ABC, CBS, Scifi.. just to name a few.
You obviously should have a fast internet connection (at the least a DSL).
If not, VCR recordings work well.. or you can invest in a DVR/Tivo.
