It is exactly the point of those self-help talk shows. The host speaks to the audience at the emotional/intellectual level of a 5 year old...because they are trying to appeal to the broadest cross-section of society. The success of these shows highlights their self-fulfilling nature. Only people who are comfortable being spoken down to in such an awful manner continue to support the existence of such shows by continuing to watch them, and all the rest of us adults continue to laugh at the rest of our grown-up compatriots who think, speak, act and feel like 5 year old children...I believe the underlying motivation for your very poignant question is a bold statement that most Americans need to ponder and then take to heart...GROW UP, PLEASE...AND NOW WOULD BE A GREAT TIME...BUT WHENEVER, JUST GROW UP!
