Answers: I missed Y & R today (monday 10/08) could someone catch me up? Please no spoilers, just what happened.

The girl behind the counter at Crimson Lights is most interested in the tabloid. That's Nick Newman - what did he do? He kissed Nick Newman, Brad answers - then bumps into an unfriendly Daniel. He too reads the front page of a tabloid magazine - Shocking Liplock (with large photos of Sharon and Nick).

Daniel wastes no time confronting Nick - who's already talked to Phyllis (and won't discuss it with Daniel). Daniel then goes to see his Mom (who denies anything's bothering her - except perhaps the fact that she's in prison). Daniel knows all about Nick kissing Sharon - I read it in a tabloid. Phyllis is immediately distressed and embarrassed - this is bad, bad, bad. Who would feed those guys? Phyllis denies being mad at Nick - he loves me - it's over. She's worried about Jack - not herself. How much can one person take?

At CL's, Paul and Maggie rule out Amber in Ji's death - Cane's a possibility - but Maggie keeps coming back to Jack Abbott. David stops by their table and hopes the case will be solved soon (as Clear Springs is taking a hit). He too implicates Jack as having motive - how did he get Ji to back off the interview? Cane later joins Paul - who passes on an update from JT (who's got a suspect in a kickback scam) - and warns Cane not to jeopardize the investigation. When Cane asks if there's any news on Ji's death, Paul confides that Maggie's working on a lead.

Vikki and JT awaken - basking - it's perfect. They discuss announcing their engagement - but for now, Vikki just wants to keep it between the two of them. Agreeing, JT kisses his fiance, then jokes when he feels the baby kicking. Vikki can't believe he's so relaxed about having an instant family. JT likes the idea of being a Dad - it's cool - he knew what he was getting into.

Nikki comes to Vic for a favour - keep the divorce private for the sake of Clear Springs. Vic thinks she should have thought about the reprecussions before she ran off with 'that man' - Her failure isn't Vic's concern - he'll profit either way. Vic WILL keep it quiet but once it's public, the gloves are off. Later, Vic's on the phone likening buying stock in NVP to buying a deck chair on the Titanic. Neil thinks whomever it was got the message. Vic then announces he and Nikki are divorcing - after all these years - and all we've been through. Neil's sorry to hear it - and surprised to hear the methane fields are twice the size they were originally estimated at - Clear Springs WILL be profitable. Neil finds it absolutely incredible. Vic says it's not the first or last time he's sprayed perfume on a pig.

Neil goes to check on his friend Sharon (who's more worried about Jack and blames herself - but won't let it ruin their relationship). After he leaves, Brad bumps into her. Sharon doesn't want to talk about the article and hurries off to deliver coffee to Jack.

Nick answers his phone - hello beautiful. Phyllis wants to talk about the article - and who initiated it - both suspect Brad. Nick doesn't blame Sharon - I kissed HER (and I'm sorry - I thought we were past this - I love you Phyllis). Vic returns and asks about the article - the publicity won't help his bid to get Phyllis out of jail. Hearing Nick apologized, Vic's proud - it's not something you learned from your mother. Nick then confronts Brad - accusing him of going to the tabloids. Brad denies it - what would I have to gain? Sharon, Nick answers - and remembers why he dislikes Brad so much. Brad suggests Nick take responsibility for his actions. Neil interrupts to break it up - is there a problem in here? We're done, Nick claims as he glares at Brad (who says that's up to him).

At the office, Jack suggests he give up his Senate seat - you and Noah are the most important things in my life. Sharon doesn't think he'd be setting a good example by quitting. She can handle the gossipmongers. Jack then turns his cell off too. Daniel arrives and is instructed to give no comment if the tabloids call - say Senator Abbott is going for lunch with his wife because they're a team. When Maggie arrives, Daniel relays that Jack can be found at the club.

At the club, Jack tells reporters the only kiss he's interested in talking about is this one. Brad watches as they take photos of the Abbott's kissing - and when Maggie arrives to ask Jack to come to the station. Jack won't answer anymore of her questions without his lawyer present. Fine - Maggie instructs Jack to call his attorney - have him meet us at the station.

A depressed Nikki gets support from David. She feels terrible saying it - but it was wonderful when Vic was sick - he needed me - now, it's like he's heartless. On the phone, Nikki fails to secure additional money to repay the 1st loan installment. David has a venture capitalist who might be interested - and wonders if she wants him to stay in town. No - Nikki needs someone in Clear Springs that she can trust (to keep costs down).

Nikki then calls Vikki to get an update on construction - but is glad to hear she relaxed last night. David's on his way, Nikki informs - then asks Vikki to think of options to get money for the loan payment. Vikki doesn't think Vic will call in the loan because of one late payment - you're his wife.

Over breakfast in the Clear Springs restaurant, JT points out a guy who just came in - suspecting he's the main player in the kickback scam. Vikki can't help but wish he did something a bit less hazardous. JT's not a suit and tie kinda guy - but promises he'll be safe. David also enters the restaurant (advising Nikki on the phone to go to Vic and ask for an extension). Having no choice, Nikki agrees - wish me luck. David then chats with Joe (the guy JT's been watching). Vikki's suspicious - something doesn't feel right.

Nikki goes groveling to Vic and Neil - she can pay half the loan but needs a 2 week extension to repay the rest - it's a temporary sales slump. Unimpressed, Neil doesn't have much confidence - it's your first payment. Vic won't agree to any extension - pay on time or he'll call in the loan.

Next: Neil's not happy with his kids (who sit on the sofa looking suitably scolded) - If I'm ever in your home and I see you treat a guest like you treated Karen tonight, I'm walking out the door and won't come back .. Sharon and Jack look worried as Maggie asks how he persuaded Ji Minh to cancel the interview

ok....the national enquirer got a hold of the Nick/Sharon kissing story and put that on the front page....Phyliis heard from prison and called Nick, they went over the entire stoy about him kissing Sharon again......Daniel confronted Nick about the story and Nick told him it was none of his business...Nick accused Brad of leaking the story to the press....that lady cop confronted Jack and asked him to come down to the station for questioning. Victoria wants to keep quiet about her engagement for now....think thats it.

also nicki asked victor to keep divorce quiet he said no at first then changed his mind for the kids sake. he said if it leaks out then the gloves are off.
