What other famous headlines have they made into l&o episodes. Yes, indeed it was. They were episode made based on the deadly couple Bernardo-Homolka of Canada, the Mel Gibson's drunk incident, the Jon Benet Ramsey's Case (suspect John Mark Karr)... They made so many of stories based on true headlines!! they always say at the end that "this episode was based on entirely fictional events."...but the similarities were quite coincendental, no? they do that alot. that's b/c they change it a little bit. well the sows disclaimer says "these people and events are fictional and do not depict real events" however the episode was based on a smith "type" character. the whole story is very accurate to the anna nicole smith story... pretty much... Absolutely!! Dick Wolf takes TONS of headlines and turns them into stories for any one (or more) of his L&O shows.
Every time I see a "sensational" story in the real news, I say to my husband.."You'll see that on Law & Order next season!"
