Why are people so into watching programmes like x-factor and that dancing one on!

Why are people so into watching programmes like x-factor and that dancing one on the BBC. It's rubbish.?
Answers: Each to their own. because we are not all the same so some like it some don't well thee x factor auditons always make me laugh!!
and i have nothing better to do! thats your opinion other people like them, cant all think the same,can we? it's our choice....if you don't like them shows...don't watch them..no nones making you.. You can't menton 2 progs and say it's rubbish? Which one? and anyway, you are not sure cos u have put a ? at the end. TV is mainly shite. True! That's why games consoles and the Internet are so popular, there's nothing decent on the telly anymore people like to see other people making fools of themselves and lets face it there are a lot of them that think they can sing and surely can't. The dancing one is different because they are celebrities so they get paid for it and i'm sure they have clauses in there to make sure that they don't look stupid and even if they did they would have an enormous fee to fall back on. well there are a lot of brain dead people in the UK that is their audience I agree but sometimes there is nothing else on and then I'm too lazy to change channels. Unfortunately many people think that watching TV is 'relaxing' and haven't realised that there is very little of high quality left to watch, ITV wants to be like USA telly, and the BBC comes down to the lowest common denominator, be it Eastenders or some other plot less humourless shouting tirade and seems to be trying to emulate ITV...
Personally I rent DVDs and leave the telly off the rest of the time i like watching the auditions on the xfactor, some of the people that turn up for an audition are really hillarious it's called escapism from the harsh realities of the world, that & the fact that folk's like to watch other's make an A*se of themselves, in front of million's even celeb's in the come dancing programme, specially if you don't like em. Anyway each to their own that's what i say. not everyone agrees they are rubbish
i personally like them
but come to think of it
what else can you sit down to watch as a family anymore
TV itself is rubbish
