Scariest 60's tv shows? Twilight Zone or Outer Limits or other?!
Question:
Scariest 60's tv shows? Twilight Zone or Outer Limits or other?
Answers: I would say Outer Limits, but Twilight Zone is a close second. Also liked Dark Shadows and Creature Features. Some of those early Twilight zone episodes were pretty creepy!
So I'd say Twilight zone.. I don't remember anyone considering either of them scary. Some episodes were eerie, and the gremlin on the airplane's wing spooked my sister and I when we were little. But, I don't remember any real scares although "The Zanti Misfits" in "Outer Limits" were creepy~antlike aliens with wild-looking eyes that buzzed loudly (if I recall correctly). I've watched these two series countless times, as well as the new versions and "Night Gallery", too.
Now, if you want scary, try "Boris Karloff's Thriller"! I remember that getting shrieks though I have only hazy memories of some episodes! Perhaps they were so scary that I blocked out seeing them. There's a legendary episode, "Pigeons from Hell", that I don't really remember but that is supposed to be frightening. So, why don't they rerun "Thriller"? They even had a comic book version.

This includes an episode guide.
"One Step Beyond" also was a spooky one. I think that episodes were supposedly based on true stories. John Newland was the host, a very elegant man with a great voice. I seem to recall that, in one episode, he and another man took peyote to study the effects. Wow! I just read that it preceded "Twilight Zone" by nine months!

Please note that there is an episode guide, too.
Note: It also was called "Alcoa Presents: One Step Beyond". Alcoa was the sponsor; I think they manufactured aluminum.
