Is there anyone besides me who think that the show Family Guy is a dumb show?
And i'm not saying that in an insulting & bad way. i have nothing against those who watch this show. Maybe i need to loosen up a bit but i see nothing funny about Family Guy. What is so funny about a baby trying to kill his mother in every episode? To me this show is another perfect example of stupid tv toilet humor that has infested television today. No I'm not saying that all shows should be like sesame street but i can live without the toilet humor that most shows are today. I miss the days when Tv shows where actually funny & enjoyable to watch.
Answers: Amen! I have made my daughter (14) stop watching it. I don't consider myself a prude (have caught myself laughing at Beavis & Butthead, King of the Hill, and dare I say it, even South Park), but besides being rude, crude, and obnoxious, Family Guy is just really not that funny! Once you have suspended disbelief to accept the little British-accent foul-mouthed maniacal baby and his dog sidekick, the characters are pretty one-dimensional and predictable. Occasionally, I can identify with the mom (her Christmas rampage was worth a chuckle), but unlike the other shows I named, this one seems to be completely without redeeming social value. The others, if you look past the surface, usually have some sort of moral or message to them, Family Guy is just stupid!
And, personally, when they get into outright blasphemy (almost every episode has some content offensive to Christianity), they have crossed the line.
More and more these days, I find myself tuning to shows on Discovery Channel, History Channel, or HGTV to get away from the toilet humor. And if you want to see toilet humor "with a purpose", try watching Mike Rowe on "Dirty Jobs". It has some moments that are hilarious, while it makes you appreciate lots of things we take for granted that somebody has to get dirty to take care of! Source(s):

My finace loves it but I just think it is rediculous I feel the same way about the simpsons u r deff missing out, that is an amazing show Hey it may be a dumb show ... but i makes my son laugh out loud and I love that sound... I think we all need a little dumb sometimes...
Live Love and Laugh.... for a happy life. And I was wondering if there was someone who doesn't like it except me.....It's absolutely stupid!!!! My hubby loves this show and we have em on dvd. I just guess I dont get the point of it, but I dont find it funny at all. Personally I think the novelty has worn off I love Family Guy!
I just want to know how they get away with it every week?

Does that make me young? I feel the exact same way. They took The Simpsons, ripped it off, raped it, added a million subplots, gave the dog and a baby speaking roles, and make irrelevant pop culture references just for gags. This show is unoriginal and I personally think it's dumbing down the nation's youth. My friend Dawn had Peter's annoying laugh "hah hah hah hah ha" as a ringtone, I didn't call her until she changed it. Fox takes away good shows (Arrested Development) but will leave garbage like this on! I swear, if it weren't for The Simpsons I wouldn't even watch Fox. I know what you mean. It's like passing a car wreck...You just can't help but look.
I prefer lighter humor than this type of shock comedy.
My kids tell me there are worse but I haven't seen them yet.
It’s not what young kids should see in some episodes that I’ve seen.
I'm glad they prefer other shows so I don't have to be strict with them. sorry, i think that show is hillarious. The Star Wars episode was great! I totally agree. My husband loves it. So do some of my pals but I can't see the attraction. It's just predictable humour. I tried to watch it once and couldn't get halfway thru it........TV toilet humor is 100% right........I couldn't agree with you more..........CAT I like Family Guy. I also like South Park. I just like raunchy stuff i guess. If you don't like Family Guy then I suggest you NEVER watch South Park. It is a hundred times worse.
:-) I am almost embarrassed to say this but, I like the show! I usually laugh my butt off during most episodes. It is so goofy and dumb and it is mindless humor, which I really need sometimes. It's funny the way a tooth ache is funny. Loud and brash isn't funny without something funny to say. Yuck. That one and 'American Dad' make me switch over to the infomercial. Not only is it bad, it's politically incorrect!
