Question:

What is your best comedy TV show of all time?

Answers: Only Fools & Horses (England) Sorry but I dont find Friends funny. I watched a entire episode & didnt raise a smile...I guess if I were a man...I wouldnt be able to raise that either!!! all in the family...

a show which basically mocks religious conservatives my favorite is friends, i love chandler and phoebe, that show is great and i wish they would not have taken it off, like so many others! I love to laugh and yes I am a conservative. But, I don't like the word religious because that means putting a label on something that has nothing to do with loving God , People, and my Country. You must not know any real conservatives. We love to laugh and there is a lot to laugh about!!! :-) Freinds! My family is good too! x lol king of queens...having trouble controlling myself just thinking about it! The Office the simpsons! Gilligan's Island
Friends
Will and Grace Only Fools and Horses
Absolutely Fabulous Hands down it's Arrested Development. I am SO not a religious conservative. In terms of British sitcom, I would say Only Fools and Horses or Red Dwarf because they have lasted the course for many years and they have evolved. This is testament to the brilliance of the writer/s and the actors in each case. My personal favourite is Red Dwarf which got even better from series 3 onwards (series 6 is a personal favourite).

The 'Alan Patridge' character has undergone an large amount of evolution for a sole comic character. We have seen him present a chat show (it can now be appreciated that these tight scripts made it a fantastic sitcom- it was very different to the looser 'spoof' show that 'Mrs Merton' presented). We have seen him living in a travel lodge and living in a caravan. This level of 'tragedy' and comedy makes him a very memorable character and the frequent digs at middle class Middle England are probably overlooked by many viewers.

In terms of American sitcom my choice is, without doubt, Friends. It is trendy, it is very clever, it is very warm, it is believable (and yet it is an unobtainable fantasy to many people) and each episode can be individually enjoyed, and each of the character types is quickly identifiable, without much or any knowledge of the rest of the series. Some would say Frasier or Seinfeld and they are very clever but Friends ticks every box that you can.

The Simpsons is a contender- Homer is a working class, slobbish everyman (who loves his family with a passion, as does Del Boy).

For a worldwide choice, I go for Friends (although The Simpsons is more universal).

For Britain alone, I personally go for Red Dwarf due to its evolution and Chris Barrie's acting in particular (although Only Fools and horses is the most universal). It's been few years but for me it would have to be a tie between "Mad About You" and "Seinfeld"

These were the only shows that were laugh out loud funny.

Oh, and now there's "My Name Is Earl" Hilarious! Everybody loves raymond...seinfeld. will and grace is always good for a laugh Extras friends "The Simpsons" in terms of popularity and critical acclaim. mine was seinfeld great show george was my fav character i have the picture of him in boxers streched out above my bed awesome picture IF YOU WANT TO LAUGH WATCH FAMILY GUY ITS ON ADULT SWIM EVERY NITE oh god.. there r soo many. King of Queens
will & Grace The earlier Saturday Night, Live! Well showing my age, it was Laugh-in. It was one of the most innovative shows in TV in its time. There was absolutely nothing like it before and it was hilarious. Also I agree with another answerer, the early Saturday Night Live shows and Monty Python. it's either the golden girls or mad about you.
