Is the crassness of "top gear" a reflection of the decline in standard!

Question:

Is the crassness of "top gear" a reflection of the decline in standards of public service broadcasting

Answers: Sure is...i remember when top gear was a motoring programme ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!! Please tell me what good ever came of Politically Correct programmes. Although its crass, its real. Too many people use tv as a form of escapism from the life they hate its great to see reality, unless its in the form of a house full of idiots being stupid in the hope of becoming "famous" AKA big brother. It's a reflection of the type of media required by young people these days.
I started buying Nuts when it first came out and in a few weeks it had degenerated from an interesting and entertaining magazine to a crass boobs and footie mag.
The media provide what the public wants - if it doesn't hit the spot, the ratings drop.
If the media is becoming crass and superficial, you can draw your own conclusions as to the reasons. If top gear is crass, can you explain why it has more anual viewers than eastenders? Come on then smart boy. Top gear would have been a good program to inform the motorist about car technologies. But instead it has become an advertising agency for super cars. Now not many of us will get the chance to buy one let alone a day out in one, so really this program could be shelved and a new motoring program take`s it place with out the buffoon of clarkson fronting it. No, it's just that Top Gear is a complete waste of time and resources.
