to sexy babe or whatever your name is, the question isnt about me liking white shows, its about there not being many black shows. for one, my wife and kids was canceled a long time ago, for two, house of paine and flavor of love 3 are not quality black shows. you were wrong for even mentioning flavor of love and of the bunch of cw shows, you named 2 of the 3.

I don't watch enough television to be certain, but I think you're right about the lack of quality shows featuring a prodominantly black cast. I wonder if the merger between UPN and WB had anything to do with it, since one of those networks (can't remember which) featured more black TV shows than probably any other broadcast network. That being said, I think it's significant that more dramas and sci-fi/fantasies are casting black actors in starring roles rather than as tertiary characters who are just caricatures of social expectations.

Personally, I find it annoying when a show that's about a specific race tends to deal mainly in stereotypes just for the sake of humor (the low-quality crap). It mainly annoys people of the race being depicted. u r right about that one missy poo i guess the C.W iz the only network who try's at least I didn't notice. I don't really care. That's why I have TVone. I like the old shows anyways. Like Martin and Good Times! so cant u like white shows? try BET.
ok thers: girlfriends, my wife and kids, everybody hates chris, house of paine, flavor of love 3.... and a bunch of shows on CW. there u go. because they dont make em like "227," "the jeffersons," "whats happening," "fresh prince," or" family matters" anymore...all the black shows suck now-a-days...actually "everybody hates chris" is pretty good. and is bernie mac still on?? loved that show... Yes there isn't as many mixed (comedy/drama) shows in circulation as there needs to be, but there are more then most other communities get (the airways are void of mainstream community representation from other groups such as Latino, Asian, etc...)

But if the mountain won't come to you then make your own as Univision and other such companies are now doing.

Coming from the North you could find the odd full Spanish Novella on late at night on a grainy channel, but now in the south while traveling around I've run across a boatload of Spanish and Korean regional channels!

Variety is the spice of life in my opinion. Since I'm not proficient with languages I wouldn't mind seeing other programming just as long as I could have some way to see it in English (dubbed or subtitled).
