I never watched the series when originally aired and only catch the reruns on A&E, and have missed a couple of episodes. Thanks
Answers: He left to go back to Italy beacause he knew he was falling in love with Carmela and she liked him. It was obvious they would start a relationship if he stayed but he respected Tony so he left.
