Answers: LOST has be renewed by ABC for three more seasons (16 episodes each season) that will start in February each year, and run consecutively through to the finale with no repeats. The producers asked ABC for this arrangement so they could write the story as they had originally outlined it when it was created. Knowing when the show will end helps the writers map out the remaining plot lines, and guarantees the audience will have resolution to all the loose ends (we hope) without the fear of early cancellation. The producers were afraid they would not be able to maintain the ratings if fans feared the show would be cancelled before all the plotlines could be resolved.

heard from one of the actors that it will go to season 5 or 6 at least.. 7 if the ratings hold up It's coming back on 24 style this feburary. MEANING 15 NEW EPISODES back to back no repeats! February. No reruns either; they are showing it straight through. I'm really glad they aren't doing that stupid 'lets show 3 episodes and then take a six month hiatus' thing again. that was a terrible idea. Season 2 fans complained of the constant repeats. Season 3 fans complained of the show doing 6 really bad episodes, dissapearing, then coming back and the complaints stopped due to no repeats. So now they're starting each season in Febuary and going non-stop, no repeats or quickly cancelled serials about a repeating day in between. No it didn't get cancelled, we get three more seasons of it but it will not return until Feb with only 16 episodes and no repeats.That will be the same way for the remaining three seasons. ABC has committed to a total of 6 seasons of LOST. Season 4 will begin in February because the seasons will be 16 episodes long instead of 24 and they do not want to show anymore reruns. The show will end in 2010.
