The latest one being Life on Mars! the american version of the office was awful. They have to dumb down inteligent humour to poo poo, big bums and fart jokes, for the the same reason all their films have to contain big explosions. Because they are too thick to understand anything else. We trust these people with nuclear weapons,

was talking about this last night oddly enough. My American friend watched The Office (Gervais) and loved it. I saw some of the American version and it was terrible...
Have a star matey... because that's what we do best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't they have to make EVERYTHING their own? Because its a different country and they want somthing that their viewers can relate to, America is a TV giant and dosnt need to rely on imports. We do the same. cos the yanks are just been yanks they have to try to be bigger and better than everyone else Because thats what Americans do best Life on Mars!

Just looked up their version of Life on Mars, it might not be that bad, the two main leads are Irish and are in lots of British stuff, so they might just keep it bearable. Dude, duh, get real

not Because to think up ideas of their own would require a brain! I agree with Truthbetold, we have to make it so that it can relate to us americans. Our humor is very different for yours, i havent found many U.K sitcoms to be funny, not saying theyre not funny at all, just not to me. Except for those guys from shawn of the dead and Hot Fuzz, love those guys. I'm all for yank bashing when it's deserved :) but seriously quality programming from the UK....when BBC or ITV produce anything as slick as The West Wing, Six Feet Under, Grey's Anatomy or even Brothers & Sisters...then maybe you've a valid point!!! Theyre not exactly ruining it... if you dont like it.. dont watch it... lol plus how can the majority of america understand our complex and sophisticated humour and plots? hehe : ) Wow.. who really cares....peAce
