Question:

DR PHIL taking things to PERSONAL & SIDED THESE DAYS?

he seems like he gets all mad when someone dosent say the right thing to him he seems to act like they disrespected him .''HELLO'' they are there because they have problems and need help.''THERES THE DOOR''!HE ALWAYS SHOUTS!
he seems like he is one sided dosnt he know that someone maybe the quiet one is trying to put up a front/what do you think?
thanks

Answers: Phil McGraw has definitely changed from when I first saw him. I've never agreed with his in your face, I know all attitude and approach. Just because he's got the "Dr." in front of his name doesn't make him all-knowing. He thinks by yelling and being mean towards you is the only way you'll learn something, which is absolutely untrue. Some people need that in your face approach, but not all. Some of his guests I think are sincere in what they say, so not everyone is putting up a front. I think he gets a kick out of thinking he's right all the time. I respect him as an educated figure and role model. However, I don't respect his approach towards helping people. If he's so intent on helping others, he needs to back off and stop judging them for their mistakes. i dont watch dr phil anymore,,,hes gotten such a God-like attitude, and thinks the answer to everything is sending them somewhere or giving them something to make himself look good.
and God forbid if you disagree with him. he's just turned into a mean and self-righteous person. You are right something has change, but I can't put my finger on it, yet?
I can understand when he says, " there is the door " , if they are not willing to change, truth is he can't really help them.
Still, as you, I watch the show but something bothers me and I wonder for how long I will continue watching this show? Evidently he has changed-a very recent poll showed 99% of the viewers dislike him a great deal and wish his program would get cancelled.

Pride goeth before a fall....and he is about to take one! I used to describe Dr. Phil as this: You know those people that you just want to shake and say "this is what you're doing wrong in your life and why it doesn't work!" Well, he does that but in a way that they're receptive to.

Now, for whatever reason, they're not receptive. I think part of it may be that, in their attempt to get more ratings, they have tried to find more extreme stories. It used to be somewhat "normal' people who knew there was a problem and were seeking help to try to make their lives better.

And then, of course, there's the people they bring on just to fight with each other and throw accusations. I know he has this whole "you can't fix what you don't acknowledge" philosophy, but then maybe he needs to bring people on that will acknowledge things. You can't tell me that before the show they don't know what they're going to say. Or at least find a way to have them want to admit it rather than get them all defensive and start a fight with them over what they said on tape and how you can prove it.

Bottom line, it has somehow become finding people to beat up instead of help. We never really get to the part where we find out how to fix said problem, but instead spend an hour with a laundry list of things that they've already done.
