I am seeking a specific detail about a "Classic" episode in the Star Trek series. (Oh, how do I feel "old" calling that series classic!)
What were the creatures that found their way on board the Enterprise called that could not tolerate either the Vulcans nor Klingons?

Answers: That was one of my all time favorites, in was the Tribbles. Those little fur balls who were born "pregnant" according to Dr. McCoy. That's why they multiplied so fast.
They didn't like the Klingons. They did like the Vulcans. Remember the one guy was really a Klingon spy disguised to look like a Vulcan. He was the one poisoning the grain and that's how they found out, because of the reaction of the Tribbles.
One of the classic lines was in the end scene, Scotty in answering a question says, ".....it was no tribble at all....." tribbles I think you are referring to tribbles but they did like Vulcans. Episode The trouble with tribbles. Yup, the tribbles.
And they COULD tolerate Vulcans. Spock was holding one. Tribbles! I used to have one haha you squeeze it and it did the little noise. They were called Tribbles and were , written by David Gerrold The Trouble with Tribbles
