Night Gallery?!

Question:

Night Gallery?

I was watching TV the other day and saw an episode of The Night Gallery on the Chiller Channel. One of the stories was called the Doll but once I saw it it freaked me out too much to finish watching it. Can anyone tell me about the story and how it ends?

THE DOLL*. A hideous doll becomes an agent of revenge against an officer in Queen Victoria's colonial forces. Cast: John Williams, Shani Wallis, Henry Silva.

Night Gallery: "The Doll"
Season 1, Episode 5.3
First aired: January 13, 1971
by Jason Warren
When Colonel Masters (John Williams) returns home to England after serving his majesty's military in occupied India in 1907, he is quite shocked to see his young niece Monica (Jewel Blanch) clutching an hideous looking doll in her arms. Colonel Masters recognizes the doll for what it really is—a device of evil magic sent to destroy him. Only now Miss Danton (Shani Wallis) has given it to his niece by mistake thinking it a gift from the Colonel himself as it had been sent from India.

The Colonel is visited by the man who sent it to him, one Pandit Chola (Henry Silva) whose brother had been executed by the Colonel for leading Indian uprisings against the British. Now can he get the accursed doll (which seems to move and talk) away from his niece, who seemingly adores the horrid thing, before it's too late?

The doll used here is truly an hideous creation to behold, plus this has a neat twist ending to boot. One of the most memorable episodes from the series, it was written by Rod Serling based upon the short story by Algernon Blackwood. It was directed by Rudi Dorn. Never fails to give me a chill.
