How did Vermont win the Springfield Contest for The Simsons?!

Question:

How did Vermont win the Springfield Contest for The Simsons?

There was a contest at USA Today's website that asked people to vote for which Springfield in the United States was the Springfield in The Simpsons. Each city (there were 14 I think) created a video that convinced people to vote their city as the real Springfield.

The winning city was Vermont's Springfield. I watched their video, and it was so stupid! It was just terrible actors trying to portay Simpsons characters in Vermont! Compared with other vidoes, this one was absolutely terrible! Illinois' Springfield seemed to have an excellent video, and I voted for Illinois.

So please! Can someone tell me why Vermont deserved to win? Somebody please give me some reasons of why they are the Springfield of The Simpsons!

Answers:

If you want good reasons, I can't help you. All I know is that Twentieth Century Fox invited 14 Springfields across the country to enter the contest to determine which Springfield the Simpsons gang actually live in.

The citites/towns sent in videos and USA Today posted them on their website for the public to vote on. Springfield, VT edged out Springfield, IL 15,367 to 14,634 votes.

Much like American Idol, it doesn't always matter where all the talent is, it's all about who can muster up all the votes.
