Has anyone seen this film. can you tell me what its about and what happens and whats so contraversal about it??

It's about two guys who get a job watching a farmers herd in the mountains where they herd grazes. They end up falling in love and the farmer suspects something and fires them. They go on with their lives and the one guys raises a family. One day they meet up and find out they are still in love with each other but don't stay together. In the end one of them gets lynched by some towns people that found out he was gay. There isn't anything distasteful in the movie but a lot of people find it wrong if there is a movie about gay men but find nothing wrong with movies that have lesbians. I personally thought it was a great movie but very sad.
