Should the classic series Kung Fu be remade this time with a chinese guy, instead of a white junkie?

I don't see remaking it again. they tried that in the eighties and it was not that good.
I think they should just make another Shaolin Series, perhaps with a girl this time and not a western but maybe something like Charmed but with an Asian flair and no demons of the Christian interpretation. Let this be an Asian spiritual fight where she must face the great darkness that threatens her. Everything is hand to hand combat though weapons will show up from time to time.
If you like you can name her Cane and have her butting heads with the police who wonder what she is doing around all these fights and riots.
It could be fun.
