"Everbody Loves Raymond", not me. Anyone else think his comedy and sho!

Question:

"Everbody Loves Raymond", not me. Anyone else think his comedy and show were wildly overrated?

His nervous self-deprecating style of comedy has been done many times before. Bob Newhart, Don Knotts and Tim Conway come to mind, certainly stars, but none reached the "stratospheric" heights and status he did. Why him? What am I missing? If I wanted to watch and listen to adults yelling at each other in a decidedly unfunny manner, I could just listen to my neighbors. I just never got his or the shows appeal, and the overt critical kudos it constantly received.

And yes, I'll admit my ability to type and proofread on the fly are wildly overrated as well, lol.

Answers:

Apparently the show had a lot of appeal to a large audience , It lasted 9 years . I don't think it was all Raymond that made the show .It had a very good cast . My favorites were Robert and Frank . The show was really funny and Marie and Frank living across the street was a stroke of genius . Good show give it another try .
