On NBC's "The Office", why do you think Pam is so relunctant to pursue!

Question:

On NBC's "The Office", why do you think Pam is so relunctant to pursue a relationship with Jim?

Answers:

I don't think Pam was ever reluctant. Consider Pam's situation:

Pam is engaged to Roy for the first two seasons. Jim is her best friend...and nothing more. At the end of the second season, he confesses her feelings for her and she starts to see her feelings for him. Still, she tells him that she's going to marry Roy and Jim transfers. Then she breaks up with Roy. Pam was in a relationship with Roy for a good portion of her life, but that relationship soured. You can tell that she wasn't quite comfortable with single life. She had always been used to the stability of being with Roy, even though it wasn't a good match.

When Jim comes back from Stamford, she asks him out to coffee and shows signs of being interested in a relationship. Jim, however, came back dating Karen. She never really had the chance to pursue a relationship with Jim once she had broken up with Roy...until now!

As of the season three finale, it looks like Jim and Pam are finally on the same page. I can't wait to find out in season 4!
