How can people learn to disregard prejudices based on race, appearance, or socia!

Question:

How can people learn to disregard prejudices based on race, appearance, or social status?

Do you think people make judgments too quickly based on someone’s race, appearance or social status? Is it possible for someone to put aside these snap judgments and be really without prejudice?

Answers:

Alabama governor George Wallace was one of the most outspoken racists in politics during the 60's. Later in his life, he publicly apologized for his prior bigotry and asked forgiveness from the black community.

I think that is proof that people, while possibly not disregarding prejudices, can learn to get along with one another and live in harmony.

Everyone has prejudices of some kind or the other. It's human nature. If you deny you have any prejudices, you're just fooling yourself. Learning to control them is the key.
