to being on GH from his other acting job/vacation?

I believe he is already back taping GH- soaps are filmed 3-4 weeks Before their airdate so i think he had his time off and is now back he had Pretaped scenes so you would hardly notice he was gone--Steve did a fan event this last weekend- there are several recaps of the fan event on various soap boards- here is one from the abc gh board:
