On Scrubs, why does carla call jd "bambi"?

im a huuuuge scrubs fan and own all the seasons. the first time carla meets jd she calls him bambi...throughout the history of the show they never explain why. i assume its because bambi was a small, innocent, baby deer who needed protection and the help of his mother and i guess carla sees jd the same way as a new doctor who doesnt know anything and needs protection and carla is the one who protects him
