Yes,..but the frequencies seldom match,..in the end you might as well put your hand up as your cough has already drawn more than enough attention...and it wouldn't require Sherlock Holmes to deduce the rest!.
I think the only effective way to cover a fart is to shoot a dissaproving look at the Person nearest to you. and then achieve a safe distance, (maintaining your disgusted repose, of course!).
