Is Kat Von D trying to copy Miami Ink with her new show LA Ink or what?

She is definetly a great artist so there will be some great tattoos shown on the show however I am afraid the show will be just a copy of Miami Ink.
I will probably watch it now and then but I would rather watch Ami James and Chris Nunez any day.
