Answers:

"You got it, dude!" ::shivers:: You're right, somebody smack that kid!

Still, mine would be Lana Lang from Smallville.

I hate her so much! The sixth season was all Lana, all the time. It wouldn't even matter if they took Clark out of Smallville; it would still be the exact same show. She pretends to be this nice person when she's anything but. She whines about "The Secrets and The Lies" all the time, and gets mad when anybody keeps the tiniest little thing from her, yet it's okay when she keeps secrets from everyone else. One minute she wants people to treat her like she's this strong, independent woman, then in the very same breath she puts on this little girl act. Everybody has to protect her from every little thing, yet she gets mad when they don't let her do what she wants. She gets mad when someone dares to have a different opinion than hers. She always has a backup boyfriend and runs to him the moment her real boyfriend does something she doesn't like. She claims that Chloe is her best friend, and yet she always treats her as an afterthought. Worse, she only acknowledges Chloe when she needs her for some reason or another. She has abandonment issues, yet everybody in the whole show would drop everything to make sure that Lana's happy. Nothing is ever Lana's fault, it's always someone else's. She only dated Lex in the first place to get back at Clark, and then she only slept with him after Chloe basically told her to, that way it would be Chloe's fault, not her own. Then she married Lex because she got to play the martyr, which she loves to do, and she still ran back to Clark every chance she got. Even when she was actually with Lex, she treated him more like an acquaintance than a boyfriend/husband, even before the whole baby thing. They didn't hug, they barely kissed, they didn't even sleep in the same room until the night before their wedding. He was just supposed to feel lucky that she graced him with her presence. She was nicer to him when they were friends than when she was dating him, and that's not saying much. Finally, Lana has got to be a kryptofreak; she sucks the life out of men and makes them stupid and boring. She did it to Adam, Jason, Clark; she even ruined Lex. She probably did it to Whitney, too, but since she was already dating him when the show started, we'll never know for sure. Yeah, she's pretty, but that's all she's got going for her. Of course, in the world of Smallville, that's enough.

And there's so many better reasons for the final nail in the coffin of Lex and Clark's friendship. How about the fact that Clark has been lying to Lex since the day they met? In "Arrival", Lex basically said if you're my friend, tell me the truth, and Clark looked him right in the eyes and lied. Next time you watch that episode, watch Lex's face when Clark does that- Lex looks completely dead inside. He knows that Clark is lying to him, and is basically telling Lex that they're not friends. Or that Clark is willing to let complete strangers in on his Secret but not his "best friend"? Or that he let Lionel put Lex in Belle Reve to protect said Secret. That's really the ultimate betrayal; Lex could expect something like that from Lionel, but Clark was supposed to be the one person he could trust, and Clark let Lex mind-raped like that? And the worst part is that Al Gough and Miles Milar actually see nothing wrong with what Clark did.

But to have that person be the ultimate reason for The Rift? I mean, come on:

LOIS LANE: Superman! Lex Luthor has caused millions of dollars in damages to your beloved Metropolis, killed thousands of people, experimented illegally on hundreds of others without their consent, tried to kill you many, many times, and ran for president just to piss you off. Why do you hate him again?

SUPERMAN: Um... he married my ex-girlfriend.

See how lame that sounds?
