Good Idea for a Public Television Show?

So I came up with a good idea while I was trying to sleep last night. I was thinking about all the overweight problems in our society and I was thinking about Children's Programming on something like PBS. So I thought, how come I never see a show on public programming(or at least when I was younger) of a show that educated children in different sports and fitness. It would expose children to sports and want them to get involved in PeeWee sports, join ballet, etc. It'd have all the casual things about public programming too - a puppet of some sort and a lot of effects and interesting interviews.

So, tell me if this is a good idea? And if you think it is a good idea, how would I get this idea off the ground? (Hopefully nobody will steal this idea from me, I pray you all have a moral compass)

I think it sound like a wonderful idea. I'm guessing you would probably need to shoot a promo video and send it in to the PBS station to get their feedback.
