was somewhat based on the movie the shawshank redemption? Especialy the character of michael scofield / and the main actor/escapee of shawshank?

Nowdays whatever tv series, or movies are all much the same. Its just amatter of how they (actors and producers) make it more interesting. It's up to us then.... :)
