Here's how the US version works.
When it gets down to the final three, they do a 3 part HOH. Who ever wins 2 out of the 3 competitions wins HOH and decides who goes home. Once there are two there's usually only a day or two left in the house. The person who lost the best of 3 HOH usually has only a day or so to live in the Sequester House.
