This guy only has human instinct. No animal at all. The last episode I watched he kept mud off of the fish. I would rolled in mud for minerals. Also he should have gripped his nails in the fish to catch it and have taken a bite to the fishes throat to kill it.
Answers:
The mud could have more bacteria in it then any kind of minerals. Each would kill the fish in their own way. I would have bashed the head.
