Why? Ratings. It's almost always about ratings. Ratings means advertisers. Advertisers mean $.
Will it come back? No. The shows ratings were never really strong as it only had around 9 million people watching it. I know that sounds like a lot, but when you take in the fact that 24 million people generally watch the top tv show, and the expensive cost of the shows effects, it failed.
savesurface.com is an online movement to bring it back. I know people think that just because Jericho was brought back any show can be. But do you know how many shows have been brought back from cancelation? 5 counting Jericho.
