Are puppet shows really illegal in NY?
Anyone from NY here? I was watching that mt. dew commercial that says puppet shows are illegal in ny. Why is that?

They are in a sense. The law states that it's illegal to have a puppet show in your window and a violation can get you 30 days in jail. The odd thing is that one of the hottest Broadway shows right now is Avenue Q which is basically an adult Sesame Street with great songs like "The Internet is for Porn," "It Sucks to be Me," and "Everyone´s a Little Bit Racist." Of course, maybe they don't count that as a puppet show in a window even though half the show is performed through windows on stage.
