Did Jay Leno have the right to parody Lindsay Lohan via Rob Schneider because sh!

Question:

Did Jay Leno have the right to parody Lindsay Lohan via Rob Schneider because she canceled his show?

This of course was on the night she was arrested once again. He took some heat from Barbara Walters for it on "The View". Personally I thought it was appropriate because it is a comedy talk show.

Stereotomy-Walters said on "The View" that Leno was being inappropriate. I think she's becoming viewless.

Answers:

Sure, he did and not just because she canceled. He has the right to parody anyone he wants; that's what's so great about "parody." You can't get into legal trouble for things that are done under the guise of satire and/or parody.

He's just invoking his Right to Free Speech/Expression of Opinion. He's not attacking her character or anything like that (she does that enough to herself with her actions!).

I think what Barbara Walters had a problem with was that there is no one in Lindsay's life to pull her back and support her in a sober lifestyle, and she knows that young girls can have self-esteem problems, which is where a lot of drug and alcohol problems stem from. Its only expontentionally worse when those young girls are in the public eye and scrutinized on every entertainment news show. I think Barbara was just saying that the jokes are only adding to her problems, which is true, but they are not the CAUSE of her problems, so I don't see anything wrong with it.

When you're an actor, you know you're going to be in the public eye; it comes with the territory, and you sign up for it, in a way. There are plenty of other Young Hollywood members who are handling it just fine, so it's obviously not entirely the media's fault.
