Why is Hongkong TV so vulgar?
Last week I was seeing a snooker game on TV. The game was played in Hongkong. Some celebrities attended the game. They are snooker fans. But during the game, the Hongkong TV kept showing these celebrities. They were especially interested in a male movie star. During one frame, they showed him about 8 times. It's ridiculous. We came to watch the game not these so-called famous people. I just wonder why Hongkong TV is so vulgar.

Haven't you been following all the tabloid tv on Lindsey and Britney? It's the lead item even on the news!
I will agree that HKtv has an odd obsession with celebrity, it's a very small geographic area where a lot of money is passing through that makes even the most minor television star ... a star. The behavior in public by these stars, with their sunglasses and ego-strut is pretty foul in light of their accomplishments.
I'd say that it's no more vulgar in HK than anywhere else: it's just that since the area is so small it seems magnified and therefore more obvious.
