why the hell do audience members applause at EVERYTHING?!!! i know they're cued to do that under some conditions (guest arrival) but i'm watching oprah right now and she's showing her purse and first she said "i have two dollars" and the audience claps; then she says "oh wait, i have 14..." and the audience claps, then she says "that's my purse..." and the audience claps histerically. why??? so lame
i see it all the time and it pisses me of a lot.

I really dont understand that. Sometimes I think they must be pumping laughing gas or something into the studio. The clapping at every word doesnt upset me as much as the screaming. Some of Oprah's audience act as though she's a god or goddess. I dont remember the last time I screamed for anyone and I've seen some famous people over the years. I think they tell them if you dont clap we wont let you out.
