I live in the UK, and download the series of Hells Kitchen every week. Julia is a 'short order cook'. Please can somebody explain to me exactly what this means?? Thank-you. (I also wanted her to win)

its so cool that he's going to send her to culinary school! Short order (she works at a chain breakfast restaurant) means eggs, bacon, burgers, not exactly fast food- but family restaurant food as opposed to fine dining
